Carbon Monoxide Campaign
MPs have launched ‘Carbon Monoxide Safe 4 Summer’ to help people understand and avoid the risks of carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning and the importance of taking a CO alarm on holiday.
The campaign from the All Party Parliamentary Carbon Monoxide Group runs until the end of August – visit the website to find out more.
CO is produced when a fuel burns incompletely, and with barbecues and gas appliances widely used by campers with tents, caravans and motorhomes on campsites, it’s also a good time to revisit the Club’s own safety advice. This includes tips such as never take even a cooling barbecue into a tent or awning, have your appliances serviced and how to spot the danger signs of CO poisoning.
