Alison and James Naylor (inset above) are the owners of Riverside Caravan Site in Cononley near Skipton in North Yorkshire (CS638), which has been named Best Certificated Site 2021.
It received the most nominations from Club members for their site’s overall holiday experience and it was awarded the Best Friendly Club Welcome and Best CS for Families. The awards scheme celebrates the high standards of the Club’s network of small, privately run campsites operated exclusively for members of the Club.
Alison said: “My husband James and I set up the campsite in April 2008 – we’d been using the land for dairy farming previously. We’re now beef and sheep farmers. Our campers, especially the kids, love seeing the animals we have on site.
“We have 360-degree views here with hills surrounding you. There are two local pubs plus a shop within walking distance and a big park in the village, plus we have a play area on site. Campers love to visit Saltaire and take a ride on the Settle to Carlisle railway.”
Other category winners were Ms D Brown of Westfields Camping Site near Kings Lynn in Norfolk, who took the top spot for the Best New CS, while Best Hideaway was awarded to Mrs V Maclean of Westfield Farm in Elgin, Morayshire (CS238). The CS with Best Facilities went to Mrs M Black of Woodview in Penrith, Cumbria (CS476).
