Stay the Night extended over winter
Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS) is extending its Stay the Night Scheme for the winter at 24 car parks across Moray, Perthshire, Argyll, Stirlingshire, the Borders, and Dumfries and Galloway.
The scheme allows visitors in self-contained motorhomes and campervans to stay for one night, between 6pm and 10am, for £7. Payments can be made via the RingGo App and visitors are not permitted to return for 48 hours after the stay. It operates on a first-come, first-served basis and as many car parks only have a small capacity, campers are advised to also have an alternative plan in the event they’re full.
FLS’ National Visitor Services Manager, Stuart Chambers said: “Being able to stay overnight in some of our car parks lets people enjoy a more leisurely pace on their travels. The feedback we have received from users of Stay the Night has been overwhelmingly positive. Some of our visitors have asked us to keep running Stay the Night car parks through winter, so this year we’re going to trial this.”
