The episodes will introduce Take Me Out host and Phoenix Nights star Paddy McGuinness to the show, playing wilderness survival expert Dougie Ryan.

Ryan steps in when the novice campers struggle with the outdoor life, but his know-it-all approach soon causes friction with the Corrie regulars.

Though he’s playing a wilderness expert, McGuiness admitted to TV Times that he’s not much of a camper in real life: “I prefer my home comforts. I have tried camping, but I love a shower and a working toilet. I would do one night in a tent with a load of cider, but that would be it.”

The camping scenes were filmed near Northwich, in Cheshire, which will double for the Welsh countryside when the storyline starts this week.
