In recent years we’ve seen a raft of legislation intended to encourage us to buy more environmentally-friendly vehicles. Unfortunately, one of the unintended results was that some more fuel-efficient motorhomes attracted high Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) from 1 September last year. Or, to put it another way, cleaner motorhomes paid more road tax. In some cases, more than £5,000 more over five years.
