1967 was the 'Summer of Love' with The Beach Boys, Beatles and surfing music filling the top ten charts. I was camping in Jersey watching surfers and listening to Scott McKensie 'Going to San Francisco'. I said to my pal Frank, "I'm going there one day".
In July 2018 my wife Hazel and I boarded the biggest roll-on roll-off ferry in the world with our 6m Pilote A Class motorhome for the eight-day Atlantic crossing to Halifax Nova Scotia. It was a cruise with a difference, eight passengers, 22 crew, a few thousand new Range Rovers, many thousands of containers and our motorhome.
