Historic Forty Hall in Enfield will be transformed over Halloween into an eerie exhibition full of creepy cobwebs, spiders, slimy slugs, bats and ghosts. There might be the occasional blood-curdling scream too.
Luckily, all you have to do is bring the family and make your way around with your composure intact. Tours start every half hour from 11am until 4pm. This is a fantastic opportunity to spook yourselves in a delightful 17th-century manor overlooking the River Lea. And if you have time left after your tour, you can calm down in the 260-acre grounds on the banks of a tranquil lake.
