Canterbury Cathedral

Canterbury Cathedral

Situated a short distance from the River Stour, Canterbury Cathedral has welcomed visitors since the area was a popular place for medieval pilgramages.

Founded in 597AD, it is the oldest and most famous Christian structure in England.

Part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Canterbury Cathedral is also home to the iconic shrine of Thomas Beckett and the seat of the Archbishop.

The cathedral is one of the UK's most popular tourist attractions, with nearly a million tourists visiting each year.
