Visiting Dovedale
Dovedale is a valley in the Peak District and a renowned beauty spot along the limestone gorge of the River Dove.
Surrounded by steep cliffs, rock pillars and caves Dovedale is and is one of the most popular attractions for those camping at Ashbourne.
The famous Stepping Stones (pictured) are a frequently visited area where many walkers begin their journey around the valley, and are a leisurely stroll away from the car park.
Amenities are sparse but two tea rooms are situated at the nearby Ilam Park and Wetton Mill, while a local shop also sells ice cream. Dogs are welcome everywhere except the tea rooms and shop. Pay and display parking is also available at Dovedale, with good access for motorhomes.
For those hoping to go camping in the Peak Districts Dovedale Valley our Ashbourne Camping and Caravanning Club Siteis only 8.6 miles away.
