The Clifton Suspension Bridge was designed by William Henry Barlow and John Hawkshaw based on an earlier design by Isambard Kingdom Brunel.

Originally designed for horses and carriages an average 12,000 cars cross the Clifton Suspension Bridge every day.

The views of the Avon Gorge are exceptional. It is recognised as a major landmark of South East England and attracts thousands of tourists every year.
