Fortrose Cathedral

Fortrose Cathedral

Situated in the heart of this charming town, Fortrose Cathedral was reputedly built in 700AD.

Formerly the seat of the Bishopric of Ross, the cathedral was largely demolished in the 17th century by Oliver Cromwell.

Today, the cathedral still displays fascinating examples of architecture including stone vaulting and window tracery.
