The ruins of Urquhart Castle can be found at the water’s edge of Loch Ness and were first erected during the 13th century.

Urquhart Castle has had a history of violent battles and political intrigue. It was once one of the largest fortresses in Scotland and is surround by outstanding landscapes.

Legends claim that deep under the castle are hidden caverns that are the home of the Loch Ness Monster.

Directions

Urquhart Castle is situated on the A82 along the side of Loch Ness. If travelling south on the A82 from Inverness it is about 25 minute's drive, just after the village of Drumnadrochit.
