Holkham Hall

Holkham

Holkham

Located on the north Norfolk coast, the hall is surrounded by 3,000 acres of scenic parkland rich in wildlife.

Discover the area with walks, cycle and boat hire. A children’s woodland adventure play area with tree houses, zip-wire and a special toddler’s area, is great for families.

The beautiful 18th century 6 acre walled garden is undergoing a project to sensitively restore the garden to its former glory and to conserve the garden for future generations to enjoy.

A gift shop and café offer locally made and sourced produce. There is also the exciting and interactive ‘Field to Fork’ farming exhibition with a virtual tractor driving experience. Listen to ‘talking tools’ which tell you what they were used for, play a quick-fire table-top game and watch a beautifully presented film on a year of farming on this great agricultural estate.

Thomas Coke, creator of Holkham Hall was just 15 years old when he began his Grand tour of Europe. Returning 6 years later in 1718, he was educated, refined and eager to start building this great house. See the art and treasures he amassed and journey back 300 years as we delve into the archives discovering the stories of his travels.
