The Mary Rose

The Mary Rose

Once upon a time, the Mary Rose was Henry VIII's most imporant naval vessel. The Tudor ship was built in 1510, and in service for 34 years before it sank in 1545.

The ship was pivotal during victories in the First and Second French Wars, however it made its final voyage during the Third French War.

Over 400 years later, it was discovered and raised, and can now be found in Portsmouth Harbour. It has since been converted into a museum, dedicated to the ship and its importance to the Tudor dynasty.
