Visiting The Longdendale Trail
Making for some of the most beautiful views in the Peak District, the Longdendale Valley is home to a chain of six man-made reservoirs on the River Etherow.
These stretches of water were originally constructed to supply the cities of Manchester and Salford with fresh water.
Following the former Woodhead railway line, the trail stretches for over 6.5 miles and is an ideal day out for a walk, bike ride or run.
