Vacancy - Camping in the Forest: Holmsley Site, Christchurch, Dorset

Picture this; working and living in stunning English countryside, doing a job that’s also your passion. Are you an experienced camper with previous managerial skills?

We also need you to have the enthusiasm and energy to deliver excellent customer service. If this sounds like you, we have an exciting and unique opportunity for the right individual or couple based at our Holmsley campsite in the New Forest.

Holmsley is the biggest of the 16 Camping in the Forest sites with approximately 600 pitches, 95 with electrical hook up, a shop, a takeaway, 3 toilet and shower blocks and is popular for family and group camping. This is a key role for Camping in the Forest and you will need to be commercially focused and responsible for all aspects of the day to day operation of the campsite. There is a large team to manage and strong leadership and motivational skills will be essential. The role involves greeting our customers, carrying out health and safety checks on the site and liaising regularly with a remote head office team.

You will require your own accommodation (Motorhome or Caravan, a tent is not suitable) and food and retail experience will be a real advantage due to the shop and catering outlet on site. The successful operation of both of these is vital to the site’s financial performance and you will be responsible for their operation, from liaising with suppliers, placing orders, using the EPOS system and counting and reporting stock levels.

The day to day operation of the campsite covers a wide range of duties which will include using the reservations system, ensuring the facilities blocks are kept clean, maintaining the site, completing any required paperwork such as daily banking procedures and maximising the sale of pitches. You will need to be prepared to be hands on and flexible with your day to day routine.

The contract will be on a fixed term basis from 19th March through to 5th November 2015 on a competitive salary with bonus scheme plus a pitch for your unit. Your days and hours of work will be worked on a rota basis currently 5 day on 2 days off, covering early mornings, evenings and weekends.
