The fact the Forest is next door to the site is a bonus, for walking , activities for Children, animal or bird-watching it is perfect. The local rail station is next door so either arriving by train or using it to travel to Chester/Manchester its ideal. The staff are exceptionally welcoming and helpful and the facilities maintained and cleaned to a great standard.

The site was busy but I expected that in August.

This review is for Delamere Forest

The site was busy but I expected that in August. The showers/toilets were always clean and I didn't need to queue. The showers seem to be on quite a short timer, but after the initial frustration it didn't really cause me any problem. Found the wardens to be friendly. The fish and chips on Friday night were yummy! There was no play area for children, but the forest is next door. You will hear planes, road noise and trains however this didn't really bother me as I'm used to this. The site is in an excellent location for exploring Cheshire and surrounding areas. Within very close walking distance you have Delamere Train Station with trains to Manchester and Chester. Would advise against taking the car in to Chester city - either take the train or use the park and ride. There is also Chester Zoo and Cheshire Oaks Outlet Village within easy driving distance. Delamere Forest is next door to the site and there are lots of walks and bike rides through the Forest. Go Ape is also within walking distance. The Anderton Boat Lift at Northwich may be of interest to some. The lift is operational but would suggest you ring first if you want to see it working, just to check. There are several walks in the adjacent park too. There are currently long term road works on the M6 - J16-19 - both directions. Expect delays. It did slow me down quite a bit. I would return to the site.

As new members this was our first visit to a club site.

As new members this was our first visit to a club site.School holidays meant this was a very busy site but everyone was friendly and respectful of others. The wardens were excellent and offered us a choice of pitches on arrival having determined our needs. The pitches were large and well spaced with easy access. All facilities were very clean and well kept. We will certainly visit again with our dogs who enjoyed lots of forest walks without the need to get in car.
