Overview

    Top site for beaches

On Scotland's sunshine coast, to the east of the country's capital, Edinburgh.

Our peaceful Dunbar Club campsite is just a stone’s throw from the popular East Lothian seaside town of the same name and adjacent to Whitesands Bay - a long stretch of sandy surfing beach.

Spectacular landscapes surround the campsite, ensuring wherever you are pitched you have a stunning view. Seaward the impressive views extend over the Firth of Forth and Bass Rock – temporary nesting spot for 150,000 seabirds during peak season.

The campsite is well laid out and spacious with 90 pitches, some of which are hardstands. Modern facilities, including a wetsuit shower are available.

Dunbar, three miles from the campsite, offers shops, places to eat and more beaches. East beach, minutes from the town centre is great for bathing, paddle boarding and sea kayaking.

Inland other attractions include East Links Family Park with animals and a narrow gauge railway; the Museum of Flight at East Fortune and the Scottish Seabird Centre in North Berwick, where you can see puffins, seal pups and dolphins.

Worth Noting

Most pitches have sea views and there is a large picnic area overlooking the coast. There is a large Sunday market/car boot sale every week at East Fortune ten miles from the site.

WiFi

The WiFi service is excellent throughout the campsite. Prices.

Eat Local

Belhaven Fruit Farm is four miles from site, and Dunbar High Street consists of almost entirely independent shops including numerous cafés, an organic greengrocer, community bakery, and a wet fish shop.

We have stayed at the old Dunbar site frequently over the last 40 years and have many happy memories. This was our first visit to the relocated site. There is an extensive amount of room here with quite a substantial amount left undeveloped. The main part of the site is laid out on a slope with excellent views out to sea towards Bass Rock. The site is still close to the cement works but there is a lot of beautiful countryside around it to explore. The children's facilities are excellent with areas allocated for games and kite flying with an enclosed space with large wooden equipment. The one thing that we felt could be improved was the waste facility. The site is very large yet the rubbish bins are on the outskirts of the site, before you reach the reception building, away from the main field and so many campers have a very long trip to dispose of their waste. We appreciate that the Club has taken on recycling enthusiastically which requires a larger area, but as someone with arthritis, I would have preferred a facility closer to the camping area or smaller disposal points around the site.

made this our centre for holiday, found some great places to visit in the local area and good road networks close at hand to get further afield such as Edinburgh, Forth bridges, Perth, Dundee,St Andrews, and others to many to mention, found a great surfing beach free parking short distance to beach Coldingham Bay ,cliff top walks to St Abbs lovely harbour and the other way 3 miles to Eyemouth great if you have a dog I haven't .Sea and river fishing ,golf courses to die for and for us great weather makes a change, but when it did rain we just chilled in the caravan. There was a leisure centre in Dunbar local shops there too and just up the road a super store with fuel station.Did not want to come home thankyou site staff hope to come back soon visit the site at Dunbar you will not be disappointed.
