    Top site for fishing

On-site fishing available and the Cotswolds within easy driving distance.

You’ll find our pretty Winchcombe Club campsite in the heart of the Cotswolds. Its location near the village of Alderton makes this campsite the perfect base for exploring the area’s pretty honey-colour limestone towns and villages. It’s great walking country too. ¬For starters there’s the Winchcombe way. This 42-mile, figure-of-eight trail runs adjacent to the campsite.

Winchcombe is a charming, quiet little site with beautiful views over the surrounding countryside. The focal point of the site is its carp pool – attractive not only to fishermen but an abundance of friendly birdlife too. Bag yourself a pool-side pitch and enjoy a prime fishing spot.

The site has excellent toilet and shower facilities, a games room and dog walk. And the site shop stocks a variety of local produce from nearby farms, dairies, butchers and bakers. There’s even a fish and chip van that drops in a couple of times a week.

The attractive town of Winchcombe is a short drive from the site. It has Walkers are Welcome status and a tempting variety of top restaurants, pubs and tea shops. Further afield Cheltenham with its elegant Regency houses, award-wining gardens and stylish shops is worth visiting.

Self-catering accommodation is available at this campsite.

As ever a lovely welcome from Sue when we arrived.

This review is for Winchcombe

As ever a lovely welcome from Sue when we arrived. She'd even checked which pitch we'd had the last time we came. When we arrived the central heating had broken down in the facility block and also the hot water was not working but we were kept up to date with developments in rectifying this! The only minus for the site was -as ever with Club sites, the push button showers with present water temperature that is just not warm enough. We noticed the road noise this visit, probably because the road was wet and there were few leaves on the trees. We were also disappointed with the food at the Gardeners Arms, the landlady however was very welcoming and friendly. However this really is one of the prettiest sites and ideally placed to visit the Cotswolds. The wardens are very efficient, and friendly and should be praised for the excellent work they do. We will be back!

This site is great. Lovely location and great facilities.

This review is for Winchcombe

This site is great. Lovely location and great facilities. The surrounding country side is wonderful. The road nearby is a bit noisy first thing and in the early evening, but the rest of the time is fine. Local pubs nearby are good. The Gardeners arms is very good. The Holiday site managers and their assistants are wonderful. Sue helped us in a certain matter, thanks very much Sue.Look forward to a longer visit in the new year. Thanks again Winchombe.
