    Top site for beaches

This campsite is just over a mile from the beach and next to Africa Alive wildlife park.

The glorious beaches of the Suffolk coast are just one of the draws for our lovely Kessingland Club campsite which is tucked away behind the former fishing village with which is shares its name.

The campsite is spacious and well presented with level pitches, a family shower room, laundry and disabled facilities as well as a small site shop selling essentials.

The sand/shingle Kessingland Beach, is just a mile and a half from the campsite. This huge expanse of sand and sand hills (seals can be spotted from here) is popular with families. The beach also runs into Benacre nature reserve - famous for bird sightings every spring as migrating birds hit British land fall.

The area around our Kessingland campsite is great for animal lovers – in addition to Benacre you can see 300 species of birds at the RSBP reserve at Minsmere and right next door to the campsite is Africa Alive wildlife park, home to more than 80 species of animals from around Africa. Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens near Great Yarmouth has a tiger compound and tree-top walk to view the animals.

Lowestoft has everything you need for a traditional British seaside holiday from Victorian Seafront Gardens, fountains and two piers, plus Blue Flag award winning beaches. The sandy Lowestoft Beach, North Claremont has two piers and a number of cafes and seafront shops. The vast expanse of sand of the Blue Flag Lowestoft Beach, South Claremont makes it the ideal beach for sunbathing and sandcastles. Beach huts can be hired and there is an area with shops.

Head south to the beautiful seaside resort of Southwold. The town’s Museum and Sailor’s Reading Room provide an insight into the towns maritime past. There’s also a boating lake, Adnam’s Brewery is based in the town and head to the seafront to enjoy the award-winning beach, also famous for its colourful beach huts.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Please note: There are no grass-only pitches at this campsite so an additional pitch fee applies. There are also wind turbines near the campsite so you may hear some noise from them.

Worth Noting

This Site has especially hard ground but is well drained. TV signal is poor. Wind turbines adjacent to the site may generate some noise.

Eat Local

Locally-produced eggs, bacon and sausages are available from the Site shop.

For a change we decided to go East instead of South to explore a different area of the UK. Site was easy to find although the directions map, both in the Sites book and online, is out of date. Site Managers were very helpful throughout our stay and ensured that the facilities etc were kept to a very high standard. Nearest beach is mainly shingle and dog friendly. Sandy beaches can be found at nearby Lowestoft and Southwold. Spent a relaxing afternoon on a boat trip from Oulton Broad. Didn't really notice the two wind turbines near the site except when it was very windy and then only heard the swish as the blades cut through the air. Will come again in a few years time to explore more of the area.

me and my family had an amazing time the staff are very welcoming you have all you need in the area such as great Yarmouth and Lowestoft and Africa alive which I would highly recommend visiting you can hear the animals from the Africa alive which is right next door to the caravan park and what an amazing sound.. you can also hear the wind turbines but only slightly and do not cause a problem.me and my family would definitely stay at this caravan park again the staff keep the place very clean and tidy and as soon as a pitch comes available a member of staff will cut the grass ready for the next happy camper

Lovely site, peaceful, Children loved the wind turbines (not much noise didn't hear them after the first hour or so) secluded site so feels like you could be anywhere. lovely blue flag beaches in Lowestoft and Southwold, didn't have time to properly explore Kessingland beach but will be back sometime. Showers and loo first class - thanks.
