    Top site for fishing

Horsley Club Site, near the North Downs. Perfect for fishing, relaxing, walking.

Our tranquil Horsley Club campsite lies just north of the beautiful Surrey Hills, popular for the network of footpaths that criss-cross them, including the long distance North Downs Way.

Horsley is a peaceful campsite tucked away down the end of a quiet lane. Although large, with some 130 pitches, campers are able to sit back and relax here – either watching the abundant wildlife – foxes, deer, rabbits and ducks are all regular visitors - or casting a line into the picturesque Horsley Lake – the campsite’s centre piece. Day fishing is available here.

The campsite has clean, modern facilities. There is a new children’s play area, dog walk and a recreation room.

The Horsley Jubilee Trail, starting at Horsley station, is a nine-mile circular walk taking in woods, historic buildings, great panoramas and a well-earned refreshment stop at a traditional English pub. You can enjoy more views of the area from Newlands Corner, a popular beauty sport in the Surrey Hills, just south of the campsite.

For days out visit the National Trust’s Polsden Lacey, a stunning Edwardian Manor House near Dorking, RHS Garden Wisely the flagship garden of the Royal Horticultural Society, and its huge plant collection, Bocketts Park Farm near Leatherhead and the Brookland Museum - home to Concorde - in Weybridge.

The theme parks Chessington World of Adventure, Legoland and Thorpe Park are all nearby.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite.

Having joined the club last year this was my first booking and I was really pleased. Wanted a short weekend break for me and my dog Miles left booking to about six weeks before. The dog going for free is brilliant as other places charge (often too much). Miles loved the woodland walk which is well sign posted. Although I am not a fisherman , there were plenty of people fishing and catching fish. Site was really clean ,plenty of hot water in the shower block. Staff helpful on arrival showing people personally to their choice of pitch. This is great customer service as other non club sites leave you to find it yourself. I would definitely rebook.

This is a lovely site and normally we would strongly recommend it having stayed here many times before. It's convenient for London and places to visit in Surrey and has a great environment around the lake area. Unfortunately this time we bridged the Bank Holiday and felt that the management and facilities on the site became under severe stress and at a far lower standard than we would expect and have found at other Club sites. The facilities did not appear to be regularly cleaned which was critical at this peak time. The site appeared crammed to capacity and a lot of plots were allowed to keep two vehicles on plot exaggerating the density issues. A small point but indicative of what we feel about the general maintenance of the site relates to the dishwashing taps: every one of the four was loose and has clearly been so for some time.

We have been members of a different club for a few years and it was a pleasure to find that the staff at this site were so friendly compared to the other clubs. We would willingly stay there again as the facilities were clean and the site easily got to without travelling along narrow lanes.
