    Top site for fishing

Horsley Club Site, near the North Downs. Perfect for fishing, relaxing, walking.

Our tranquil Horsley Club campsite lies just north of the beautiful Surrey Hills, popular for the network of footpaths that criss-cross them, including the long distance North Downs Way.

Horsley is a peaceful campsite tucked away down the end of a quiet lane. Although large, with some 130 pitches, campers are able to sit back and relax here – either watching the abundant wildlife – foxes, deer, rabbits and ducks are all regular visitors - or casting a line into the picturesque Horsley Lake – the campsite’s centre piece. Day fishing is available here.

The campsite has clean, modern facilities. There is a new children’s play area, dog walk and a recreation room.

The Horsley Jubilee Trail, starting at Horsley station, is a nine-mile circular walk taking in woods, historic buildings, great panoramas and a well-earned refreshment stop at a traditional English pub. You can enjoy more views of the area from Newlands Corner, a popular beauty sport in the Surrey Hills, just south of the campsite.

For days out visit the National Trust’s Polsden Lacey, a stunning Edwardian Manor House near Dorking, RHS Garden Wisely the flagship garden of the Royal Horticultural Society, and its huge plant collection, Bocketts Park Farm near Leatherhead and the Brookland Museum - home to Concorde - in Weybridge.

The theme parks Chessington World of Adventure, Legoland and Thorpe Park are all nearby.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Worth Noting

Fishing available from site opening to closing - seasonal or daily tickets are available. This site is located at the end of a "private lane" which is sign posted.

If you have any visitors or additional vehicles we do have 11 spaces on site for extra parking. If these are full alternative off-site parking facilities are available 0.8 miles away in the village.

We have just returned home after a 3 night stay in our caravan and i cannot wait to return. what a pretty setting this site has with its lake resident wildlife water lillys and flowers . There is a friendly atmosphere all around and the staff always greet you with a smile and are very helpful they also keep the site/ toilets/showers exceptionally clean . On site is a great walk through the woods for those with 4 legged friends and ours really enjoyed the free space there. The area has brilliant places to visit and we enjoyed a lovely day at Polesdon Lacy a National Trust home and gardens located a few miles down the road.

Friendly, efficient wardens, who provide a great welcome to this site.

Friendly, efficient wardens, who provide a great welcome to this site. With it`s central lake and resident ducks and geese, it is a wildlife haven and very is a safe and fun enviroment for children. On the downside [and despite the wardens best efforts at cleaning], the toilet and shower facilities are very, very tired. Routing to the toilets at night is hazardous because there is no lighting and the paths and tracks to them are uneven. WIFI!! Just about every bus company, ferry, train, restaurant, cafe, townhall, library, city centre, marina, clubhouse, has free internet, yet as a "club member" I am expected to buy internet time. C`mon, CCC, it`s time you moved into the 21st century and made WIFI free on your sites. A 2 night stay for 3 adults and 1 infant in a moderate sized campervan [Boxer PVC] cost 78.40p to park on a patch of sharp gravel and use poor toilet facilities where even the hairdrier costs money. At these rates, the club sites no longer represent value for money. Very disappointing

Following a long drive down from Newcastle we were welcomed on arrival by John and Catherine.

Following a long drive down from Newcastle we were welcomed on arrival by John and Catherine. From that point on they went out of their way to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Very useful information on arrival and they regularly made themselves available throughout our stay. It was also great to see them around the site regularly speaking to guests. With three children we requested a pitch near the play area which we were allocated on arrival and if possible would request that pitch every time! Facilities were great, plenty to do with the children whether this be the play area, fishing on the lake or heading off for a walk. Local shops just down the road and a train station nearby to venture further if driving isn't an option. The site had a fantastic atmosphere which is in no doubt down to John, Catherine and their staff. Thank you once again, we will definitely be back!
