Overview

A tranquil campsite retreat in the Midlands.

If you want a get away from it all break but not be too far from civilization our Clent Hills Club campsite is a great option. Its location in a peaceful valley, less than a mile from the beautiful Clent Hills, makes this a truly relaxing site, yet the city of Birmingham is less than 15 miles away with Halesowen and Kidderminster even closer.

This spacious site enjoys a peaceful ambience and pleasant views across the surrounding countryside. The Clent Hills, less than a mile from the campsite, are a popular haunt for walkers with miles of footpaths and stunning panoramic views of the Cotswolds, Welsh Borders and Shropshire Hills. The National Trust’s programme of guided walks and suggested routes will help you find your way around this rural haven. The 440 acres of woodland and heathland are popular with birdwatchers too.

For shopping, attractions and cultural distractions Birmingham offers the famous Bullring shopping centre, Birmingham Museum and Art gallery the Sea Life Centre and more. Other attractions within driving distance include the Black Country Living Museum, Cadbury World and West Midlands Safari Park.

Do take advantage of the local map on sale in the shop.

Do take advantage of the local map on sale in the shop. We found it of great use getting about locally, on foot and bikes. Lovely walks locally, many footpaths and quaint villages. Clent Hills are a must. Seating aplenty and stunning 360 views. Take a picnic! Need to walk your dog off site but not a problem with quiet roads and public footpaths through fields within 10 minute walk. Lovely views over site and valley from the upper pitches. Swallows Nest gastro pub 20 minute walk through Romsley (Dark Lane). Food just OK. Lovely views from their terrace at the back. Site within easy reach of M5 and really, not far from anywhere!

We hadn't booked arrived just after 1200. No mention in book re arrival after 1300 only on sign at entrance. One unit ahead of us was allowed through we were left to sit for 40 mins. Could have given us a pitch no. Paper work later. Not friendly club.

We were fortunate enough to get a last minute booking.

We were fortunate enough to get a last minute booking. We were sited in the middle of a sloping field surrounded by family tents. The area was not as quiet as we would like - but owing to the situation no complaints. The staff promptly dealt with a group of children playing ball. The site is very close to the Clent Hills and a walk had to be done on saturday. There is a good Co-op store and butchers a short distance away in Romsley. Main shops not far in Halesowen.

Great base we went into Birmingham ( well worth a visit, markets amazing and some stunning architecture ) also Worcester for day visits . Lots of canal / riverside walks , nice independent pubs and cafes for refreshments while out and about. Beautiful countryside on the doorstep as well as lots of places of interest like Dudley zoo, Cadbury World , Steam railway etc. Within 30 mins drive. The site was maintained well with some lovely touches , hanging baskets , able to order breakfast butties from reception ( we didn't us this though so can't comment on if its good or not ) , shower/ toilet block spotless and lots hot water and a hairdryer/ mirrors. My first trip to a certified site and would definately use it again .
