Just back from a very enjoyable weekend with my young nephews.

This review is for Clent Hills

Just back from a very enjoyable weekend with my young nephews. They had a brilliant couple of days both playing at the site as well as a trip to the safari and cadbury world. The site staff were incredibly nice and accomodated our request for co located pitches. The site is very well looked after and the pitches are a good size. The only draw back of this site if you are with kids is that it doesn't have many facilities eg no pub in walking distance, no ball games allowed, limited play area therefore it's probably more suited to couples and walkers.

Got off to a bad start when the site manager led us to our pitch via a deep furrow, causing our motorhome and tow car to ground out. Then (shrugging) he said we'd need to get outside help if we required a tow. Not what we needed after a 3 hour journey with 2 small boys. Fortunately we got ourselves out and managed to pitch on chocks. The facilities were clean and the water was really hot, which was great, but only 3 showers and 3 washing up stations meant long queues on a busy bank holiday weekend. Play area was a bit lacking and there was nowhere for ball games, but the kids had fun riding bikes and scooters around. Good location, we met with friends from Manchester and had fun visiting Clent Hills and Hanbury Hall (both NT). A pleasant site, but perhaps more suitable for tenters and those without children.

An excellent site. 25 minutes drive from the centre of Birmingham which why I was there. Well maintained site and grass. I was staying bank holiday August and the site was child heavy with some noisy screamy kids but I suppose that is to be expected. Couples without kids may find this annoying - we did. Apart from this small gripe everything in order and a good place to explore by bike, car or foot. A smaller club site which had a more friendlier atmosphere which I like. The newish managers had a raffle for more flowers about the site which is good. They have plenty by the shops and reception. be warned some pitches are quite sloping to the north higher point of the site. Shop has basics for breakfast etc....toilets and showers all fine but a bit wet when it rains as the tikes didn't seem to drain in the main areas. Woman's toilets/showers were more busy then the mens. Easy access to this site. Site is set in a lovely village quiet area.

The site is convenient for visiting local towns and also walking in the Clent Hills or the other country parks which are within easy driving distance. We had intended to go to Birmingham to visit the NT Back to Back Houses but we forgot to book in advance so didn't want to go on spec in case we couldn't get on a guided tour. Had a very enjoyable few days here and would certainly consider visiting again.
