Arrived on opening day for this season to a very warm welcome from Phil & Adele, who were newbies to this site just like us. Loved the pitch we had in amongst the trees, watching the birdlife and the squirrels scampering around. Will definitely return (often!) and would recommend to anyone who prefers a quiet and secluded getaway. Many thanks to Phil & Adele for all their help during our stay.

The sign is the same as a CS one, just a small finger post, so look out! Slightly bumpy track to entrance. Has keycode lifting barrier entrance. Site managers were OK, although I waited by the shop for 20 minutes after it was supposed to open at 4pm, and eventually gave up. I went during the Easter holidays and had lovely weather, so was surprised to find only a handful of units in the area where I was pitched. When I walked around the site later, though, I saw that it was actually quite busy. I didn't require hook-up, so was in a less popular area, I think. Also, it's so wooded that there's lots of privacy for most of the pitches. On arrival, the male manager led me to my pitch, but I asked if I could go on a different one nearby, as it was in the sun. He agreed happily. Maybe it would be a good idea when you arrive to allow them to put you where they have chosen, but then do a quick walk around to see if there's a pitch you like better, and go and ask if you can go on that one instead. I think I prefer the "other" club's method - where you are normally allowed to drive around and pick the pitch you want, then pop to the office to let them know the pitch number. My main reason for visiting this site was for peace and quiet, and some nice walking. For these purposes, this site was ideal. My van was about 15 metres from the gate into the National Trust's Lavington Plantation, which was lovely for shorter walks, but also connected directly to other, longer routes. I would recommend this site, and will almost certainly return. I think it would also be great for families with children who enjoy den-making and other outdoor pursuits.

The track leading to the site should really be given a proper surface.

This review is for Graffham

The track leading to the site should really be given a proper surface. This year (April 2015) some attempt had been made to fill in the worst of the pot holes but regular usage by vehicles and units arriving & leaving the site can only make the surface deteriorate. The site's facilities are good and cleaned regularly to a high standard by the site's managers. This is to their credit given the very peaty soil which gets trodden into the facilities when the weather is wet. We experienced a problem with our electrics which kept tripping out even though I had my caravan panel set at 9 amps. The manager was always willing to reset the trip and on the day we left he did have an electrician upgrade the trip switch for our particular pitch. The Graffham site is ideal for people who enjoy walking. The South Downs area is fabulous walking country. There is a well stocked shop in the Graffham village - only 5 minutes drive from the site. Petworth is a quaint town with a good range of shops - particularly antique shops! Petworth House & Park is well worth visiting as is Singleton Open Air Museum and the nearby Cathedral city of Chichester.
