It should be much clearer that there are no Motorhome service points.

It should be much clearer that there are no Motorhome service points. There are also no stand alone water standpipes for filling the freshwater tank. The only accessible water tap is opposite the shower block. In order to use this I had to block the access road for the duration of the fill. There is NO WHERE to empty a motorhome waste water tank - this meant driving for some distance with a full waste tank to find services with a drain suitable to discharge into. The site would really benefit from some very simple alterations to facilitate emptying (a drain across the road from the shower block to water point or better a drain in the car park) and an additional standpipe in the car park area.

A lovely site in the woods. Each pitch is very private with its own little area in the woods.

A lovely site in the woods. Each pitch is very private with its own little area in the woods. Very friendly staff, but who also know when you just want to be left alone to enjoy the peace and quiet. Very relaxed atmosphere because of this, but they're always happy to help if you need it. Facilities all kept very clean and showers are not push button, which is a bonus for me! Fantastic site if you have a dog as there are miles and miles of public footpaths across the common, through the woods and up onto the Downs, straight from the site; no need to walk on the roads and several of the walks we planned also take in one of several pubs in the nearby villages. Very happy to recommend this site and if a future trip sees us returning to Sussex, we'd definitely stay here again.

We will definitely be back. Absolutely loved it here.

We will definitely be back. Absolutely loved it here. Lovely secluded pitches, giving privacy & relaxing atmosphere. Very friendly, helpful staff. Great area to explore. Could do with a few more showers as had to queue for a shower a couple of times. Although this was no great hardship. The showers/toilets were lovely & clean, especially considering they are in the middle of the woods! The only real tricky bit here is the narrow 'dirt track' lane leading to the site. The track would have benefitted from some maintenance work, as it was very bumpy due to pot holes. Also, if you meet a vehicle coming from the other direction you need to reverse as there is nowhere to pass. This would be extremely difficult if you were towing. The instructions for the site are to leave before 12 & do ask for arrivals to be NO earlier than 1pm because of the tricky access. However, during our week there we did notice quite a few 'campers' arriving before 12. However, this would not put us off coming back here. As I said to start with..... We WILL definitely be back :) loved it :) & thank you for a lovely holiday :)

Lovely campsite in beautiful woodland. Very special, and with an interesting history. Set in a pretty, rural part of Sussex, with lots of footpaths from the site. The site staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful, and maintain very good standards on the site. A real find, we look forward to returning for another stay soon.
