Scarborough never fails to invoke warm memories of ice cream-filled days, sandcastles and paddling in the shallows. As you might expect, our Scarborough Campsite is in a fantastic spot for enjoying the full scope of Yorkshire's beautiful coastline.

It's a pleasant 2-mile walk to the main beaches of Scarborough (pictured) along a glorious cliff-top path, placing the main beaches of South Bay and North Bay within an hour's stroll. Or if you can't wait, simply hop in the car for a 5-minute journey. Divided by Castle Headland, Scarborough's main beaches offer the quintessential English seaside experience with expansive golden sands, amusements, boat trips, donkey rides and even a Sea Life Centre.

A few miles further south from Scarborough is Cayton Bay, a quiet beach backed by dramatic cliffs that's a popular spot for watersports enthusiasts, while the beaches of Filey and Reighton serve up beautiful golden sands and seafront cafes by the bucketload.

Within a 20-30 minute drive north of Scarborough Campsite are the beaches of Whitby - another national treasure with oodles of family-friendly entertainment and local amenities. Here you'll find the main Whitby Beach, a real seaside classic with generous golden sands, shallow shores and amusements. It's also home to the magnificent Whitby Abbey - a historic gem perched high on the cliffs overlooking the popular seaside town.

Other great beaches around Whitby include Robin Hood's Bay, a lovely large sweeping bay with rock reefs and good local pubs.

ScarboroughLocated on the edge of the North York Moors and within walking distance of Yorkshire's best beaches, our Scarborough Campsite pulls out all the stops to offer an unforgettable beach camping holiday.

Outdoorsy types will relish the chance to explore the North Yorkshire Heritage Coast and the North York Moors National Park, which are easily accessible from the site. It's a pleasant stroll to Scarborough's North Bay Beach along a cliff-top path, and you're also within striking distance of the 110-mile Cleveland Way National Trail - a magnificent walk that starts in Filey and winds around the perimeter of the North York Moors.

As for the site itself, treat your aching bones to a welcoming shower and make use of practical facilities like washing machines, dishwashing amenities and a well-maintained toilet block. There's also an on-site shop plus take-away, ball games field, recreation hall and a children's play area.
