There is something extra special about camping by the river or choosing a lakeside campsite for your trip. The calming and scenic backdrop of the water makes for a relaxing holiday, while providing plenty of entertainment options too.

Be Aware and Be Prepared

  • Have the correct clothing including lifejackets
  • Make sure someone knows your plans
  • Have a mobile phone for making an emergency call
  • Take a compass and torch to assist you in the dark, fog or mist
  • Never dive or jump into water, there could be unseen potential hazards
  • Be aware of wind, tide times, currents and sandbanks
