When mechanical engineering graduate Tim Leatherman set out on a budget tour of Europe in the mid-1970s with his wife Chau in an old, cheap Fiat 500 he had bought on their arrival from the States, he had no idea he would be the co-founder of a multi-million dollar company and establish a new category – multi-tools.
