Tent brands Quechua, Cabanon, Outwell and Karsten topped the league tables in the Camping and Caravanning Club’s first Tent Owner Satisfaction Awards
The winners from seven categories were announced at an awards ceremony attended by Club Chairman Anne Dearling and Director General Robert Louden and sponsored by Club Care Camping Insurance.
The winners were:
- Best tent – the Cabanon Guadeloupe
- Best tent brand - Quechua from Decathlon
- Best tents up to four person – the Cabanon Classic Range
- Best tents five to six person – the Outwell Regency Collection.
- Best tents seven-person and over - the Outwell Ambiente Collection
- Best tents under £300 – the Quechua Air Seconds range
- Best tents over £300 - the Karsten 350.
An online survey, filled in by more than 1,500 campers, provided the data for the awards. Campers shared their experiences of buying, owning and using their tents and gave them an overall satisfaction rating.
Robert Louden MBE, Director General of the Club, said: “As the UK’s leading organisation for tent campers we’re proud to deliver the first in-depth owner satisfaction survey into tents, and to celebrate the best-performing brands on the market today. The results of this survey will be of huge value to Club members.”
Nigel Coppen, Client Director at Club Care Insurance, the awards’ sponsor, said: “We at Club Care are passionate about providing campers with peace of mind when they’re relaxed on holiday, and that’s why our Camping Insurance is designed by tent campers for tent campers.”
