The Green Man The month of May is a popular month to get out camping. And May Day itself is a time for joy and celebrating all of nature’s abundance. In years gone by, London men would try to outdo each other by creating enormous garlands to wear on their heads. It became known as the festival of the green man, or Jack-in-the-Green. The mythical green man represented was said to be a symbol of fertility and nowhere is the ritual more enjoyed than in Hastings in East Sussex. Revellers dress head to toe in green – the wackier the better. Why not get the whole family to make their own costumes and join in the fun? Event Jack-in-the-Green Date 29 April - 2 May 2016 Nearest Club Site: Normans Bay
