What is The Wild Network?

It began with a film. The documentary Project Wild Thing was the foundation upon which The Wild Network is based. Filmmaker David Bond sought to reverse the emerging issue of ‘nature deficit disorder’ – the shrinking amount of time children spend outdoors – starting with his own children. He set about creating a marketing campaign to sell to youngsters the benefits of going outside to play, and to get away from the mobile devices and screens that kept them indoors. Four years on from the film, The Wild Network has grown to a following of more than 2,000 organisations and 26,000 individuals believing in a “free-range, outdoor childhood” and the benefits of ‘wild time’. And what better way to achieve this than camping.
