The first time I tried to reverse a caravan without someone to help direct me was more than 15 years ago. I had a small person (aged four) sitting in her car seat next to me. I must have voiced my concerns as I heard a response: “Grandma would say, ‘You don’t know if you can do it unless you try’.” Both my daughter and my mother were, of course, correct and I managed the manoeuvre.
