City of Caves - Nottingham

Made up of over 500 individual caves that have been excavated from the sandstone bedrock of Nottingham they are linked together in a network by a maze of underground passages. The caverns have been used for over 1000 years, serving as an artisan bazaar, a haven for the homeless, and even an air raid shelter.
