Know your towing limits

There are a many choices when you buy a caravan or trailer and a range are considered in the Club’s Data Sheet Matching Car and Caravan. One of the most important is to understand the basic legal and recommended limits controlling your choice of caravan and tow car. Here I consider the legal limits as imposed by your driving licence and tow car manufacturers, and then the non-legal but recommended limits. Finally, the special position of unbraked trailers is also considered.
