Thetford toilet basics

I can still remember the satisfaction of updating our ancient 1978 Elddis Mistral with the addition of a Porta Potti toilet for the washroom and then some years later buying a caravan with the luxury of a built-in cassette toilet. Both these chemical toilets were Thetford inventions and this company has undoubtedly revolutionised European caravan sanitation and ended the bleak early hours trip to the campsite facility block. Thankfully, Thetford hasn’t stopped innovating through the 40 plus years it’s been in business as now, with age against me, getting my original cassette without wheels to the disposal point would be a struggle.
